Police helicopter crash kills four in Brazil's Rio de Janeiro

Four police officers were killed Saturday when their helicopter crashed in an anti-drug operation in the Brazilian coastal city of Rio de Janeiro.

The incident occurred near the city's western favela of Ciudad de Dios, following a gunfight between alleged drug traffickers and the police.

The Military Police helicopter, which was aiding police on the ground, was attempting to make a forced landing when it crashed.

The crash tied up the traffic near Ciudad de Dios, which became known worldwide with the release of the 2002 movie of the same name, "City of God," directed by Fernando Meirelles and Katia Lund. Endi
