The development of agriculture sector is among the top priorities of the Ukrainian government for the next year, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said here on Friday.

"Our goal is to increase the number of jobs in the agriculture sector, boost yields and profits," Groysman told reporters.

Pointing that the farm sector currently provides employment opportunities to every sixth Ukrainian, Grosman pledged to increase state financial support to the agriculture industry.

According to him, the cabinet is considering a possibility to double financial incentives to farmers next year to 384 million U.S. dollars.

From January through October of 2016, the share of agriculture exports in Ukraine's total revenues from overseas sales reached 40.1 percent. Endit
