Yi scores 21 as Guangdong overwhelms Blatche-less Xinjiang

Guangdong snapped Xinjiang's unbeaten record with a 117-85 victory in the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Friday.

Xinjiang, who dropped to 7-1, was without former NBA player Andray Blatche and Chinese rising star Zhou Qi tonight. Blatche suffered with a torn thigh muscle, he averaged 25 points and 11 rebounds this season.

Donald Sloan led Guangdong with 30 points and 7 assists, Yi Jianlian finished with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Former NBA All-Star player Carlos Boozer had 17 points and 15 rebounds. Xinjiang's Darius Adams had a game-high 32 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Guangdong opened the game with a 11-5 run and end the first quarter with a 26-15 lead. Xinjiang pulled to 30-33 midway through the second quarter,but Yi and Sloan countered with a combined 15 points to rebuild Guangdong's lead to 13 at halftime. Guangdong extended the lead to 20 points in the third that Utah never recovered from.

Jimmer Fredette hit eight 3-pointers to score 47 points, helping Shanghai beat Liaoning 117-113 on the road. Liaoning was led by Lester Hudson with 32 points, Shavlik Randolph added 23 points and 12 rebounds.

Stephon Marbury's Beijing suffered the first home defeat after losing to Guangsha 85-110. Courtney Fortson Escored 48 points to lead four players in double figures for Guangsha.

Shenzhen gave defending Champion Sichuan a straight defeat with a 109-100 win. Former NBA star Josh Smith finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks for Sichuan.

In other matches, Shangdong topped Tongxi 105-94, Qingdao edged Guagnzhou 89-88, Jiangsu overwhelm Bayi 102-75, Jilin beat Fujian 127-120, Aolong lost to Shanxi 104-115, Tianjin downed Zhejiang 104-91. Endit
