China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development receives award in Barcelona

China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development (MOHURD) received an honorary award at the Global Smart City Awards, held at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona.

Ramon Roca, president of the Smart City Expo World Congress, delivered the award to Ni Jiangbo who received it as the representative of the ministry.

The award recognizes the ministry's achievement on technological and human development.

In addition, MicroClinic Technologies partnered with Chinese company Huawei to provide distant healthcare solutions in Kenya and won the Innovative Global South Award.

The technology, which supported the digital transformation of Lamu's medical system, enables county governments and hospitals in Kenya to deploy a pay-per-use model and ensure the sustainability of healthcare services. It covered 28 healthcare facilities and benefited over 200,000 people.

This award recognizes the most innovative ideas that tackle the most pressing global challenges in the regions of Asia, Africa and Latin America, the so-called Global South.

Meanwhile, Dunhuang Smart Tourism Company and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University were among the nominations of the awards.

The Global Smart City Awards were delivered with the goal of recognizing the most innovative initiatives and received 250 entries. New York City was chosen as the best smart city by the jury. Endit
