A man on suspicion of terrorism offences has been taken into custody, Britain's West Midlands Police said on Thursday.

The 34-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday in Birmingham, and he is suspected of "being concerned in the commission, preparation and instigation of acts of terrorism under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000," according to the West Midlands Police.

The suspect is being questioned by West Midlands Counter Terrorism Unit at a police station in the West Midlands.

Police said that the arrest was "pre-planned and intelligence-led" and "there was no threat to the public's safety." Endit
