A London tram was travelling at 70 km/h when it derailed and overturned on a bend with a speed limit of 20 km/h, killing seven passengers, an interim report revealed Wednesday.

The official Rail Accident Investigation Branch's (RAIB) is continuing an investigation into the tragedy which happened just after 6 a.m. local time on November 9 when a tram bound for Wimbledon overturned on a curve as it approached Sandilands Junction in Croydon. (Britain-London-Tram Accident)

UNITED NATIONS -- The World Health Organization (WHO) condemned the attacks on five hospitals that took place in Syria on Nov. 13-15, including three hospitals in Western Rural Aleppo and two hospitals in Idleb, a UN spokesman told reporters here Wednesday.

"At least two people were reportedly killed as a result of the attacks and 19 people were wounded, including six medical staff," Farhan Haq, the deputy UN spokesman, said at a daily news briefing here. (UN-Syria)

RIYADH -- A Saudi couple was killed on Wednesday in a suspected missile attack from Yemen on the border city of Najran, local news channel Al Arabiya reported.

LUANDA -- Angolan border police have arrested at least 750 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) in its latest operation to clamp down on illegal immigrants from neighboring countries, police announced in a press release on Wednesday.

The arrests were made from October 14 to November 7 this year by the border police in the province of Lunda Norte for attempted border violations, and the offenders included both men and women accompanied by children. (Angola-DR Congo) Endi
