Former Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Marat Oganesyan was detained on Wednesday on suspicion of embezzling 50 million rubles ($770 million) during the construction of the Krestovsky Stadium.

Russian News Agency reports that the court will consider Oganesyan's arrest on Thursday.

According to the Investigation Committee version, in 2014, Marat Oganesyan used his position to ensure that TDM company would become a subcontractor in the construction of the Krestovsky Stadium and get the advance payment of 50.48 million rubles.
