Seven militants of local banned Islamist outfit Jamaatul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) have been indicted in a case filed for killing of a Japanese national in Bangladesh.
A court in the country's northern Rangpur district, some 304 km away of capital Dhaka, Tuesday framed charges against the JMB militants for killing the Japanese national Hosie Kunio in October last year.
Special Judge's Court of Noresh Chandra Sarker in Rangpur also fixed Jan. 4 next year for holding the hearing in the case.
Kunio was gunned down on Oct. 3 last year in Rangpur district by motorcycle borne assailants days after the killing of an Italian citizen Tavella Ceasar in Dhaka's diplomatic zone.
Five of the accused are now behind the bars while one is on the run and another militant was killed in a reported shootout with members of law enforcers. Enditem
