Vice premier's visit to further China-France pragmatic economic cooperation

Visiting Chinese Vice Premier Ma Kai, who was in Paris for the fourth China-France High Level Economic and Financial Dialogue, met with French President Francois Hollande on Monday.
During the meeting, Ma said the purpose of his visit is to implement the consensus reached by both countries' leaders as well as the outcome of the G20 Hangzhou Summit, to promote the pragmatic economic and trade cooperation, and to lift Sino-French comprehensive strategic partnership to a new level.
Ma expressed China's hope that France would continue to exert its influence by urging the European Union to fulfill its obligations under Article 15 of the Protocol on China's Accession to the World Trade Organization and to play an active role in facilitating the establishment of a fair, just, transparent and nondiscriminatory international trade order that complies with WTO rules.
Hollande said France attaches great importance to ties with China and is ready to further deepen cooperations with China in the fields of energy, trade and anti-terrorism.
France welcomes China's further nuclear energy technology cooperation with France, he said.
Hollande said France opposes trade protectionism and will make greater efforts to protect the safety of Chinese tourists and expatriates in France and hopes that more Chinese will travel to France. Endit
