Ma Xiaoxu wins MVP of Chinese women's super league

Chinese international Ma Xiaoxu was awarded the most valuable player of the year for the 2016 Chinese women's soccer super league (CWSL) here on Monday.

The 28-year-old striker was the best scorer this season. She netted 12 goals for Dalian, helping the team to win the CWSL title. Ma made her debut in the Olympic in Rio this August, after missing the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and was forced out of the pitch for years due to serious injury.

"My motivation is the my love to football, I deeply believe I belong to the pitch," she said.

"Although I had suffered serious injuries and great difficulties, I will never say quit," She added. Endit
