Afghan forces kill 25 militants in 24 hours: gov't

Afghan government forces during series of operations across the conflict-hit country have killed 25 armed militants over the past 24 hours, said a statement of Interior Ministry on Monday.

The operations, according to the statement, had covered parts of Nangarhar, Kabul, Kunar, Uruzgan, Helmand, Herat, Faryab, Baghlan and Kunduz provinces during which 25 more insurgents have been injured and nine others captured alive.

Without mentioning possible casualties on government forces, the statement noted that crackdown against militants to stabilize security would continue.

Taliban militants and Islamic State group which have been fighting the government are yet to make comment. Endit
