Egypt beats Ghana 2-0 in FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifier

The Egyptian national football team scored on Sunday evening a 2-0 win over its rival Ghana in FIFA World Cup 2018 qualifiers at a stadium in the Egyptian coastal city of Alexandria.

Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, a famous striker playing for Rome Club in Italy, scored the first goal from a penalty kick three minutes before the end of the first half while his teammate, Egypt's Al-Ahly midfielder Abdullah al-Saeed scored the second goal a few minutes before the end of the match.

The Ghanaian team played a good match but the rightful penalty kick for Egypt at a critical time of the first half changed the game.

With this win in the qualifiers, Egypt takes the lead with six points in Africa's Group E that also includes Uganda and Congo.

Twenty African national soccer teams are competing in the third and final round of the qualifiers that started in October 2016 to qualify five of them to join the 2018 FIFA World Cup that will be held in Russia. Endit
