Four Americans were killed early Saturday morning in an explosion at a U.S. military base in Afghanistan, U.S. Defense Secretary Ash Carter said.

"An apparent suicide bomber has taken the lives of two U.S. service members and two U.S. contractors working on the base," Carter said in a statement, adding that the explosion also wounded 16 other U.S. service members and one Polish soldier. (US-Afghanistan-Blast)

TIRANA -- Floods generated by torrential rainfalls hit Albania, especially the country's northern regions, where several villages were inundated and hundreds of families were evacuated, local media reported Saturday.

ANKARA -- Turkey's Foreign Ministry on Saturday issued a travel warning concerning the United States as thousands of Americans have taken streets for the fourth day in a row to protest the President-elect Donald Trump.
