Xinhua, November 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

Vietnam and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) signed here on Friday an agreement on satellite monitoring.

The first satellite monitoring system in Vietnam is based in Viet Tri city, the northern midland province of Phu Tho, which specializes in regularly monitoring domestic satellites and others in Vietnam's territory.

Another similar system is scheduled to be built in the northern province of Bac Ninh, Vietnam News Agency reported,

According to ITU, Vietnam's satellite monitoring system can connect with the world's, making it easier for the country to improve its capacity for protecting satellites as well as professional competence of satellite monitoring staff.

To date, Vietnam has successfully registered Vinasat-1, Vinasat-2, VNRedsat-1 satellite orbits, and micro satellite PicoDragon. It is considering registration for Radar satellite projects. Endit
