Xinhua, November 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Jordan on Thursday said the ties with the U.S. are strategic and solid at all levels, congratulating Donald Trump over winning the U.S. presidential elections, the state-run Petra news agency reported.

Jordan's Minister of State for Media Affairs Mohammad Momani said the country will continue to work with the U.S. on various issues.

The U.S., he said, has repeatedly stressed keenness to work with Jordan to realize peace in the Middle East and to fight terrorism, adding that Trump has voiced respect for Jordan's role in this regard.

The minister noted that Jordan's position on various regional issues including fighting terrorism, the Palestinian issue and the Syrian crisis is convincing and welcomed. Endit
