Belarus respects the will expressed by citizens of the United States of America and congratulates all the Americans on the accomplished presidential election.

The Belarusian side is ready to continue working together with the American side to further normalize the bilateral relations, Belarusian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday in a statement.

Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Donald Trump who was elected the U.S. president.

"Your victory shows that the American people are in favor of a policy based on honesty, responsibility, and search for changes," the message said.

Lukashenko stressed that Belarus has always sought to maintain constructive cooperation with the U.S. in its foreign policy.

The leader also expressed his hope that under President-elect Donald J. Trump, the efforts to normalize the relations between the two countries will be continued. Endit
