China said Wednesday it expected to make joint efforts with the new U.S. government to maintain sustained, healthy and stable growth of China-U.S. relations, and benefit people of the two countries and the world.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lu Kang made the remarks at a routine press briefing.
