Kremlin on Monday denied allegations that Russia has been involved in the U.S. presidential elections, saying that Moscow has neither right nor intention to interfere in the campaign.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the U.S. presidential campaign is "an internal affair of the Unite States and there are already lots of problems with it." (Russia-US-Elections)

MOSUL, Iraq -- Kurdish security forces, known as Peshmerga, freed Monday a town from the Islamic State (IS) militants near the city of Mosul, a Kurdish security source said.

The Peshmerga forces, backed by U.S.-led coalition airstrikes, started in the morning their operation to storm the town of Bashiqah, some 30 km northeast of Mosul, and managed to seize the town after fierce clashes during the day, the source from Peshmerga told Xinhua on condition of anonymity. MONT PELERIN, Switzerland -- UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Monday that Greek and Turkish Cypriot leaders had reached a "critical juncture in their talks" as negotiations addressing territorial disputes opened here also on Monday.

"The two leaders have expressed their hope that this meeting will pave the way for the last phase of the talks in line with their shared commitment to do their utmost in order to reach a settlement within 2016," Ban told reporters in a press conference. (Switzerland-Ban-Talks)

KABUL -- At least one person was injured and a police vehicle destroyed in a bomb attack near a government office building in the west of Kabul, capital of Afghanistan on Monday, sources said.

"The initial findings show a roadside bomb was detonated when a police vehicle was passing by a road in Kart-e-Char locality, near the Ministry of Higher Education building, injuring one passerby," a security source told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Kabul-Bomb) Endi
