2 terrorists killed in northern Algeria

Xinhua, November 5, 2016 Adjust font size:

Algerian counter-terrorism troops on Wednesday killed two terrorists in the northern province of Jijel, 300 km east of Algiers, Defense Ministry said Friday in a statement.

It specified that the two armed militants were killed in an ambush set in the dense woods of the locality of El Aouana, as two Kalashnikov machine guns, five chargers, a quantity of ammunition and a mobile phone were retrieved.

Detectives identified the two armed militants as Gh. Samir, alias Abu Haroun, who joined terrorist groups in 1994, and B. Houcine, also nicknamed Abu Bakar.

Despite a remarkable improvement in the security situation in Algeria, the eastern regions, including the provinces of Boumerdes, Bouira, Tizi Ouzou and Jijel, along with the southern provinces of the country, namely Tamanrasset, Adrar and Illizi, are still hosting few numbers of terrorists.

The statement concluded that army troops are determined to pursue the eradication of terrorism in Algeria. Endit
