Cypriot champions APOEL took out the Young Boys of Bern 1-0 in Europa League Group B action at home in a return match in Nicosia on Thursday.

In their first encounter two weeks ago, the Young Boys beat APOEL 3-1.

APOEL's striker Pieros Soteriou shot the ball past goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo Nganoma after tackling two Young Boys defenders. That secured the game's only goal in the 69th minute.

Young Boys defender Mbabu Kevin was sent off the pitch in the 67th minute, moments after he entered the field as a substitute due to a tough foul.

After today's matches, APOEL leads Group B with 9 points in 4 games and is a favorite to qualify for the next round. Endit
