Spotlight: CPC's stricter party governance to give Chinese dream fresh impetus: experts

Xinhua, November 3, 2016 Adjust font size:

The all-round strict governance of the Communist Party of China (CPC) is expected to inject a fresh impetus into the effort to pursue the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation, officials and experts from Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) told Xinhua in recent interviews.

With new disciplines and rules for intra-party political life and supervision to be its focus, the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee held on Oct. 24-27 has drawn attention from BiH officials and experts who follow China's affairs closely.

During an interview with Xinhua, Amel Kovacevic, a former BiH ambassador to China, hailed the CPC's effort to seek stricter party governance, saying strict supervision is important for keeping a party and its members clean and capable and is crucial for realizing the Chinese dream.

"In China, achieving the Chinese dream must depend on the strong leadership of the CPC, but if CPC members are not disciplined and performing well, it will be hard to realize the Chinese dream. So strict governance of the CPC is one of the fundamental keys to realizing the Chinese dream," he said.

Thanks to the CPC's strong leadership, fast economic development has been achieved and the impoverished population has been significantly reduced in China, Halid Genjac, president of the Steering Board of the Party of Democratic Action of BiH, told Xinhua.

"However, like all other political parties in the world, the CPC also has to tackle the global evil -- corruption. Strengthening governance of the CPC means to fight a war against corruption," he said, adding that achieving the Chinese dream requires the CPC to impose discipline on all its ranks.

Genjac believes these measures will create an environment conducive to the country's economic development that will contribute more to the global economy.

Faruk Boric, a renowned media commentator in BiH and also chairman of BiH-China Friendship Association, told Xinhua that he saw a clear connection between realizing the Chinese dream and an all-round strict governance of the CPC.

"The Chinese dream is not a dream of one man, and cannot be achieved without the full devotion of many. As the ruling party of China, achieving the Chinese dream requires the CPC to impose strict discipline on its members," he said.

Boric stressed that he saw an all-round strict governance of the CPC as an ongoing process which will never stop.

The CPC on Wednesday promulgated an update of the norms of the political life within the CPC under current conditions.

The document was approved at the sixth plenary session of the 18th CPC Central Committee last week to promote strict governance of the CPC. Endi
