German artistic interactive module launches in Shanghai

Xinhua, November 2, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Elbphilharmonie artistic interactive module from Hamburg of Germany, a combination of music, architecture and technology, opened in Shanghai Wednesday.

The outdoor module features a walk-in image of the facade of the Elbphilharmonie with pressure-sensitive mats, making the whole model an interactive carpet of sound.

When visitors step on the mats, they activate individual groups of instruments synchronized with the piece of music.

Running till Nov. 5, the Elbphilharmonie Roadshow in Shanghai is also one of celebration events for the Shanghai Hamburg 30 Years Sister City Anniversary.

The roadshow is a wide-ranging communications campaign to introduce Hamburg's new landmark Elbphilharmonie concert hall to the world before it opens in January 2017.

Being sister cities from 1986, Shanghai and Hamburg have cooperations in fields like economics, culture, sports and education. Endi
