Three quarters of Macedonian households have Internet access: statistics

About 75.3 percent of the households in Macedonia had access to the Internet by the end of the first quarter in 2016, up six percentage points compared with the same period in 2015, according to data released by Macedonian state statistical office on Wednesday.

About 99.2 percent of the households with Internet access had broadband connection to Internet, the office revealed.

According to the office, 72 percent of those aged between 15 to 74 in the country used the Internet in the first quarter, and 61 percent used the Internet every day or almost every day.

A total of 81 percent of Internet users accessed the Internet via mobile phone in the first quarter, and most of them were young people aged between 15 to 24.

In the meantime, about 77 percent of Internet users during this period used a mobile phone or a smart phone to access the Internet away from home or work. Endit
