Xinhua, October 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Dalian overtook Shanghai to claim the champion of the Chinese Women's Super League (CWSL) on Sunday as they beat the Chinese Army team 2-0, one point ahead of Shanghai in the league table.

Shanghai had the initiative of champion-claiming as they had 29 points in hand while Dalian got 28 points before the last round of the CWSL.

After a scoreless first half, Brazilian striker Fabiana da Silva Simoes broke the deadlock for Dalian in the 64th minute and she assisted China international Wang Shuang 15 minutes later to enlarge the gap, helping Dalian beat Chinese Army team 2-0.

Shanghai tied Beijing 1-1, but one point was not good enough to bring them the trophy.

In other two matches, Changchun beat Tianjin 3-1 at home in a heavy snow, Shandong tied Jiangsu 0-0. Endit
