Algeria's Mouloudia of Bejaia drew 1-1 at home against the Congolese side of TP Mazembe in the first leg of African Confederation Cup (CAF) final on Saturday evening.
In an overcrowded Tchaker Stadium in Bilda province, near the capital city of Algiers, TP Mazembe were the first to score thanks to Bolingi who successfully converted a penalty (41'). Pushed up by their fans, the hosts managed to equalize through captain Yaya who superbly placed a 20 meter away free kick in the net.
Mouloudia of Bejaia could have added more goals, but the Congolese goalkeeper Gbohouo made crucial saves.
The second leg is due in Nov. in Lubumbashi, as TP Mazembe are hoping to win and celebrate with their fans the second CAF trophy after that of 1980, while the Algerians are to fight for their chances to return home with the cup for the first time in their history. Endit
