A new round of violence has killed dozens of people in Central African Republic (CAR), according to the United Nations peacekeeping mission in the country.

This attack came a day after a bloody raid by suspected ex-rebel force Seleka killed at least 10 habitants and injured a dozen others on Thursday morning in Grimari. Security situation is deteriorating in CAR, despite expectations for violence to go down after the election in February. (CAR-Violence)

CAIRO -- The death toll of Egypt's massive floods since Thursday has risen to 26, the Egyptian Health Ministry said in a statement Saturday.

72 people in total were injured. Seasonal heavy rains and floods hit Egypt almost every year, with impoverished areas of poor infrastructure suffering the most. Similar floods about the same time last year left at least eight people dead in Egypt's Delta province of Beheira. (Egypt-Flood)

ISLAMABAD -- At least five people were killed and six others injured on Saturday evening in a shooting incident in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, police said.

The incident took place when four unknown gunmen riding on two motorcycles opened fire at a group of Shia Muslims who were making arrangements for a religious gathering in a street in Nazim Abad area of Karachi. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack yet.(Pakistan-Deaths)

TOKYO -- Nineteen people have been injured in a bus-van collision Saturday afternoon in Japan's Yokohama, local media reported.

The cause of the incident is still under investigation. The incident happened only one day after an earlier accident in the city which killed a young boy and hurt 11 others as a pickup truck collided with two other vehicles and plowed into a group of elementary students. (Japan-Collision)

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan -- A police officer was killed and three others injured in a suicide bomb attack in Kandahar city, capital of Afghanistan's southern province of Kandahar on Saturday.

The Taliban militants have been on the rampage since April when they launched their annual offensive in different places in Afghanistan, killing and injuring hundreds.
