Austrian hotels, guesthouses see record number of guests

Austrian hotels and guesthouses have attracted a record number of guests both over the first nine months of the year and during the summer season, Statistics Austria revealed in new figures on Friday.

For the year up to the end of September, 33.6 million guests were recorded as having stayed at some form of domestic guest accommodation, a 5.3 percent year-over-year increase.

The summer months of May to September saw a 4.5 percent increase in guests to reach 20.15 million.

The overall increase in guests was noted across both domestic and foreign visitors. Endit
