China to promote fitness, leisure industry

The General Office of the State Council has recently published a guideline to improve the fitness and leisure industry.

The guideline identified the fitness industry as an area that could help boost consumption and a new engine to prompt economic growth.

It is a necessary requirement to accelerate the industry to improve the lives and health of the people, said the guideline.

The guideline set a goal that by 2025, the country shall form a comprehensive fitness and leisure industry with a total output value of three trillion yuan (442.5 billion U.S. dollars).

The State Council recently also issued a guideline on developing the domestic assistance device industry, with predictions saying its production value could exceed 700 billion yuan by 2020. Endi
