Albania to start hotel rating next month

Xinhua, October 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Albanian government has adopted criteria and regulations for hotels rating which will begin on November 1, one of the requests made by the tourism associations, local media reported Monday.

Sources from the government were quoted as saying that this decision paves the way for the classification of hotels based on star rating categories.

Thus, the businesses that will operate in this sector have the right to open eight types of accommodation services, namely, inn, hostel, camping, hotel, motel, resort, spa, as well as bed and breakfast.

The sources said that all these subjects will answer about 421 questions related to sanitary and hygienic conditions, details about cuisine and food, room service, etc., and every hotel must collect minimum points to qualify.

If a hotel fails to achieve this, it will not receive the qualification certificate that will allow it to operate in a specific category, government sources said. Endit
