About 40 countries take part in Belgrade Book Fair

Xinhua, October 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

Publishing houses from about 40 countries attended the 61st International Belgrade Book Fair, which opened here on Sunday, its organizer said.

Iran is the country-guest of honor at this year's book fair. On behalf of Iran, author Narges Abyar said she comes from a country where "people live with books" and where in the past four years 300,000 books were published.

Dragan Stanic, president of Matica Srpska, the oldest Serbian literary, cultural and scientific institution, said Belgrade Book Fair allowed participants of literary communication to meet and have many valuable incentives.

Under the slogan "Take Books in Your Hands", there will be promotions of new books, discussions, lectures and festivities during the fair.

The book fair will close on Oct. 30. Enditem
