Morocco, India to build USD 230 mln fertilizer plant in India

Xinhua, October 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Morocco's state-owned Office Cherifien de Phosphate (OCP) and the Indian firm KRIBHCO announced the construction of a new 230 million U.S. dollars fertilizer plant in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, local media reported on Saturday.

The joint venture will be located in the city of Krishnapatnam and have the capacity to process up to 1.2 million tons of NPK - or Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium - fertilizer, the daily Akhbar Alyaoum said.

"OCP has always been, and remains fully committed to contributing to India's agricultural development," the same source cited OCP Chairman Mostafa Terrab as saying.

"This partnership is designed to be truly a win-win project for all the stakeholders involved but foremost for India's agriculture and particularly for Indian farmers," he added. Enditem
