Three killed in train-truck collision in Ukraine

Xinhua, October 21, 2016 Adjust font size:

At least three people were killed and two others injured when a passenger train hit a truck in Ukraine's central Vinnitsa region on Thursday, authorities said.

The State Service for Emergencies said Friday in a statement that the collision occurred at a railroad crossing, resulting in a fire in the driver's cabin and the engine room of the train.

The truck's driver and two passengers died on the spot, while the train driver and his assistant, with severe burns, were taken to the intensive care of a local hospital.

All 30 passengers of the train survived the accident without injuries, with some of them suffering psychological traumas.

The cause of the collision is under investigation. Endi
