German automobile manufacturer Audi AG will, on Nov. 1, start recalling 215 Audi Q7 cars in Vietnam to fix their third row benches, local media reported on Thursday.
According to Audi Vietnam, indentations on the cross piece of the third row seating were not designed and subsequently manufactured to correct specifications, so the third-row seat structure could deform in the event of a collision, increasing the risk of injury to passengers, online newspaper Dan Tri (People's Intellectual Standards) reported.
The affected Audi Q7 models in the Vietnamese market are cars produced between Jan. 2015 and July 2016. They will be repaired free of charge.
In the first nine months of this year, 214,398 automobiles of various kinds, including cars, were sold in the Vietnamese market, up 31 percent on-year, according to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association. Endit
