According to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, the leaders of the so-called Normandy format group comprising Ukraine, Russia, Germany and France agreed on a new roadmap for peace solution in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday night, German media Focus Online reported.
In addition, an armed police mission in Donbass should perform their work, Poroshenko was quoted as saying.
The plan for peace solution should take the Minsk peace agreement as a basis. The foreign ministers of Russia, Ukraine, France and Germany will work out the document by the end of November at the latest, Poroshenko said.
According to Poroschenko, the details of the armed police mission will be discussed with the Organization for Security and Cooperation (OSCE) in Europe.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday evening for talks over implementation of the Minsk Agreement for eastern Ukraine in Berlin.
The leaders of the Normandy format group have undertaken repeatedly high-level phone contacts over the Ukraine conflict in recent days.
The Minsk peace agreement aimed at ending the conflict in eastern Ukraine was reached by the leaders of the Normandy group in February 2015 in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. However, the peace treaty has not been fully implemented. Endit
