Vietnamese lawmakers to convene for year-end session, 4 bills to be adopted

Vietnamese lawmakers are expected to convene for the second session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) on Thursday and will adopt four law bills, said a Vietnamese official here on Tuesday.
Speaking at a press conference held in Vietnam's capital Hanoi on Tuesday, Do Manh Hung, vice chairman of the NA Office said during 26 days of working, the second session will spend some 63 percent of its time or 16 days on legislative work.
Accordingly, the NA is scheduled to adopt four bills including law on properties auction, law on faiths and religions, amended criminal code, and law on associations, as well as one amended resolution on elimination and reduction of tax on using agriculture land.
At the same time, the country's top legislature will review 13 bills on management of state properties, compensation responsibility of the state, management and use of firearms, explosive equipments and supporting tools, railway, external trade management, supporting Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs), among others as well as one resolution on issuance of electronic visa for foreigners travelling to Vietnam.
Meanwhile, in the rest 10 days, Vietnamese legislators will review socio-economic reports, implement supreme oversight and discussions on important issues, said Hung, mentioning some reports on prevention, combating crimes and law violations, as well as corruption prevention and fight in 2016.
The second session of Vietnam's 14th NA, which will open on Thursday, is projected to last till Nov. 23, 2016. Endit
