Namibian police said Sunday that four children died in a gas explosion at a farm outside Windhoek Friday, while seven others including four adults, were hospitalized.
The children, who died in hospital Saturday morning, are three boys aged between six and 11 and a girl aged five. (Namibia-Blast)

ATHENS -- A refugee woman and her son lost their lives on Sunday off the Oreokastro hospitality center in northern Greece after being hit by a car in an accident, police said. It sparked tension with refugees.

DHAKA -- Bangladesh on Saturday executed Asadul Islam Arif, a leader of banned militant local outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh, who was convicted of killing two judges in 2005.
"Arif has been hanged to death (Saturday) at 10:30 p.m. (1730 GMT)," Jannatul Farhad, official of a jail in the country's southwestern Khulna district, about 140 km southwest of capital Dhaka, told journalists at the scene. (Bangladesh-Execution)

DAMASCUS -- At least 31 people were said to be killed on Sunday by airstrikes on rebel-held districts in Syria's northern city of Aleppo, a monitor group reported.
Warplanes carried out four airstrikes on the rebel-held neighborhoods of Qaterji, Sukkari and Bab al-Naser as well as other areas in eastern Aleppo, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-Aleppo-Airstrikes)

NORTH SINAI, Egypt -- At least two Egyptian military officers and four conscripts were killed on Sunday in confrontations with militants in restive North Sinai province bordering Israel and the Gaza Strip, a security source told Xinhua.
"An officer and four conscripts died as an armed attack targeted their armored vehicle in Abu Tawila town of Sheikh Zuweid city while another officer was gunned down by a sniper in Al-Muqata'a town also in Sheikh Zuweid," the source said on condition of anonymity. (Egypt-Sinai-Clashes) Endi
