A paramilitary trooper of India's Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) was killed and eight others wounded Friday after militants attacked their convoy in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.

The attack was carried out in evening in the outskirts of Srinagar city, the summer capital of Indian-controlled Kashmir. (India-Kashmir-Attack)

WASHINGTON -- The United States announced Friday it would further lift sanctions on Cuba to facilitate trade as well as scientific and humanitarian exchanges between the two countries.

The move is intended to expand scientific collaboration, increase humanitarian support, and bolster trade and commercial opportunities between the United States and Cuba, the U.S. Treasury Department said in a statement. (US-Cuba-Relations)

DAMASCUS -- At least 15 people were killed on Friday by suspected U.S.-led air strike on Syria's northern province of al-Raqqa, the de facto capital of the Islamic State (IS) group, a monitor group reported.

The warplanes, believed to be from the U.S.-led anti-terror coalition, struck areas in the town of Dahham in the northeastern countryside of al-Raqqa, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-US-Air strike)

TRIPOLI -- Heavy clashes between pro-government forces and IS occurred in Libya's Sirte on Friday, killing at least 14 of the government fighters, media office of the government forces announced on its Facebook post.
