The following are news highlights in major Nigerian media outlets on Friday.

-- Freedom at last on Thursday for 21 secondary school girls who were abducted from Chibok community in Borno State 30 months ago by Boko Haram. (The Guardian)

-- The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Lai Mohammed on Thursday said the release of 21 Chibok girls abducted by Boko Haram more than two years ago was not a prisoner swap.

"Please note that this is not a swap. It is a release, the product of painstaking negotiations and trust on both sides," Mohammed told reporters in Abuja, denying claims from local sources that the girls were freed in exchange for four Boko Haram prisoners. (The Punch)

-- The House of Representatives on Thursday moved to reduce the power of the Nigerian President in the sack of judges.
