Number of tourists visiting Macedonia up by 4.1 pct in first eight months

The number of tourists visiting Macedonia from January to August 2016 increased by 4.1 percent compared to the same period last year, data published Thursday by Macedonia's statistical office showed.

During the eight-month period, the number of domestic tourists increased by 3.5 percent, while the number of foreign tourists increased by 4.5 percent.

The number of nights spent in Macedonia saw an increase of 1.8 percent compared to the same period last year.

However, the number of tourists visiting Macedonia in August 2016 decreased by 7.2 percent compared to August 2015. Endit
