Hollande calls for swift roadmap to restore Ukraine border

Xinhua, October 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

French President Francois Hollande on Thursday called on Normandy format leaders to double efforts to define a roadmap aimed at helping Ukraine to retake control of its borders and set on ground a peace deal brokered a year ago.

Speaking to his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko, Hollande hoped a roadmap defining steps that would give Ukraine back control over its border could be outlined soon, his office said in a statement.

The French president is ready to take part in talks over the Ukraine crisis with the leaders of Russia, Germany and Ukraine in the coming days, adding that the quartet meeting "should give a decisive impetus to the resolution of the crisis." Endit
