Xinhua, October 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

A 10-year-old boy was shot dead on Wednesday evening by the gunfire of the Israeli soldiers, who are stationed at the borderline area between Israel and southeast Gaza Strip, medics said.

Ashraf al-Qedra, spokesman of the Hamas-run health ministry in Gaza, told reporters that the child Abdulla Abu Medyeff, 10 years old, of the town of al-Qarara, east of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis, was killed.

"Abu Medyeff was shot dead by an Israeli gunshot in the back, he was taken by an ambulance from the town and arrived dead at Nasser Hospital in the city of Khan Younis," said al-Qedra.

There has been no immediate Israeli army comment on this incident. There has been no other casualties, according to al-Qedra.

However, the residents said that Israeli soldiers, stationed at the borderline area between the eastern part of al-Qarara and Israel, had suddenly opened intensive gunfire on the homes of the residents close to the borders. Endit
