Xinhua, October 12, 2016 Adjust font size:

At least four people were killed and 11 others injured in a collision between a trailer truck and a passenger mini-bus on Wednesday morning in western Ukraine, authorities said.

The accident occurred at 07:50 a.m. (0450 GMT) when the two vehicles collided on a rural road between Khmelnytsky and Kamenets-Podolsky, the State Emergency Service said in a statement.

According to the statement, the crash took place on the twisty section of the road, where traffic accidents frequently occur, especially in rainy weather when the road becomes slippery.

According to the regional police department, three children were among those injured.

From January through September this year, some 107,300 road accidents occurred in Ukraine, leaving more than 2,200 dead and about 23,500 others injured. Endi
