1st LD-Writethru: Xi stresses implementation of reform measures

Xinhua, October 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday stressed the role of relevant departments of central authorities in advancing the country's reforms, calling on them to comprehensively carry out reform measures.

Xi made the remarks at the 28th meeting of the Central Leading Group for Overall Reform, which he heads.

Central departments, which are responsible for policymaking and implementation, should have stronger confidence and composure in the face of difficulty and should unwaveringly push forward reform schemes, Xi said.

He asked them to look at the whole picture and formulate reform plans in line with reality.

The meeting was also attended by Liu Yunshan and Zhang Gaoli, deputy heads of the group.

A series of central documents were also approved at the meeting, covering issues ranging from disaster relief, senior care, production safety, mobile networks and real-name registration systems.

China will make more efforts to protect rivers and lakes, act against data fraud, improve the accuracy of statistics, and integrate socialist core values into the rule of law, according to the meeting.

Administration reforms in developed towns will be advanced, and urban and rural land planning pilots will be implemented at the provincial level. Endi
