Xinhua, October 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

The unusual discovery of a mass grave in the yard of one of the main political leaders in Macedonia, Ali Ahmeti, shocked the public, local media here reported Tuesday.

The skeletons of 60 persons were found in Ahmeti's yard and the news was also confirmed by Ahmeti, who called for a thorough analysis of the bones.

There are no details given so far regarding who were the victims or when they were buried.

However, unofficial sources said that the victims might have been killed in 1913. The bones were sent to laboratories where they will undergo several analyses.

Macedonian daily Zhurnal also posted some pictures of the bones found at Ahmeti's yard, while a local prosecutor's office in Gostivar city has launched investigations to shed light on this crime in the past. Endi
