The following is the profile of President Tabare Vazquez of Uruguay:

Born on Jan. 17, 1940 in Montevideo, Vazquez graduated from Universidad de la Republica Medical School in 1972 as an oncology specialist.

From 1990 to 1995, Vasquez was mayor of Montevideo.

From 2005 to 2010, he was president of Uruguay.

Re-elected in November 2014, he was sworn in as president of Uruguay on March 1, 2015 for a term up to March 2020.

Vazquez visited China in 1998 as leader of the Frente Amplio party and in 2009 as president of Uruguay. Endi
