Egypt denied on Monday the possibility of allowing foreign military bases on its territories, state-run Ahram Online website reported.

According to the report, Egypt's presidential spokesman refuted recent media reports that Moscow is negotiating with Cairo to construct a military base near the Mediterranean. (Egypt-Russia-Military Base)

RABAT -- The leader of Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD), Abdelilah Benkirane, has been appointed by King Mohammed VI as Morocco's new prime minister for a second term.

The king received Benkirane, who was elected head of the PJD in 2008, at the Royal Palace in Casablanca, Morocco's largest city, on Monday and named him prime minister with the task of forming a new government. (Morocco-New Prime Minister)

ISTANBUL -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday signed an agreement on piping Russian natural gas to Turkey and possibly Europe following a meeting in Istanbul.

ADEN, Yemen -- At least eight pro-government fighters were mistakenly killed and several others injured in airstrikes carried out by Saudi-led warplanes in Yemen's southern province of Abyan on Monday, a tribal chief told Xinhua.
