Report: Saudi Aramco says no decision to stop oil supply to Egypt

Xinhua, October 10, 2016 Adjust font size:

Saudi oil company Aramco said on Monday that there is no decision to stop supplying oil to Egypt, Sabq online news reported.

"Aramco is committed to the signed contract with Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation few months back to supply Egypt on a monthly basis refined petroleum products of 70,0000 tons for five years," Sabq quoted an Aramco source as saying.

The source did acknowledge that there was a delay in oil supply to Egypt, but said that was because of a rearrangement in Saudi production share on the international market following a frame agreement among members of the Organization of the Petroleum Export Countries (OPEC) in Algiers, Algeria, in September to cut output.
