Xinhua, October 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Indonesian and Jamaican government have agreed to establish cooperation in sports sector by exchanging their coaches aimed at bolstering sports achievements in the respective countries, an Indonesian official said here on Friday.

Deputy of Indonesia' s youth and sports minister overseeing efforts to boost national sports achievement Gatot Dewa Brata said that the coach exchange program between the two nations would cover badminton and athletics sports.

"Jamaica expects Indonesia to send badminton coaches and Indonesia hopes Jamaica to send athletics coaches here," he said in a statement.

The coach exchange program was expected to mutually benefit the two countries, as Indonesia has advantages in badminton sports while Jamaica was excellent in athletics, Gatot said.

Gatot expected the plan can be implemented before Indonesian athletes vying in Asian Games sports event slated for 2018 in Indonesia. Endit
