CPC ready to strengthen ties with Hungarian parties: senior official

Xinhua, October 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Communist Party of China (CPC) is ready to carry out dialogues and exchanges with the political parties in Hungary to strengthen friendship and understanding between the two peoples, a senior CPC official said Thursday.

Liu Yunshan, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the statement when he met with Hungarian parliament speaker Laszlo Kover.

Liu spoke highly of the development of bilateral ties, saying the two countries have seen frequent high-level contacts, enhanced mutual trust and close cooperation in areas like trade, finance, tourism and culture.

China treats Hungary as an important partner, and his visit is to conduct further consultations on bilateral relations, party-to-party exchanges as well as cooperation between China and Central European countries and cooperation within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, said Liu.

Kover, for his part, said political parties in Hungary have consensus on developing relations with China, hoping to tap the potential of cooperation and build a closer bond between the two countries. Endi
