Vietnam beat the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) 5-2 in a friendly soccer game here on Thursday.

Fifteen minutes into the game in Thong Nhat Stadium, Pak Wang Ryong opened the scoring for the visitors, and he scored the team's second goal in the 62nd minute. Five Vietnamese found the back of the net in the 32nd, 51st, 62nd, 85th and 93rd minute.

This is Vietnam's first win over the DPRK in five encounters. In the previous four clashes, Vietnam lost once and drew three times.

Vietnam used this game to prepare for the AFF Cup 2016, which is slated for Nov. 19-Dec. 17 in Myanmar and the Philippines. Endit
